Difference between Mono and Dual Submersible Pumps

Our patent-pending¹⁾ Dual Submersible Pumps (with two connections) offer unprecedented flexibility compared to Mono Submersible Pumps (with one connection). The Dual Submersible Pumps can replicate all performance curves of 2", 3", 4", and 5" Mono Submersible Pumps. The second hose connection on the Dual Submersible Pump allows for doubling the pumping capacity. Additionally, up to 14 combinations of different hose diameters (2", 3", 4", or 5") are possible. The result is an impressive capacity of up to 126 liters per second (l/s) at a weight of only 29 kg (63.9 lbs).

Only in confined spaces would you need to rely on 2" or 3" Mono Submersible Pumps. Otherwise, the Dual Submersible Pump is always the optimal choice. It can also be used as a Mono Submersible Pump and covers a range equivalent to up to eight Mono Submersible Pumps.

How do I set the submersible pump to optimal performance?

Oil Flow Optimization

Our submersible pumps can be set to the maximum possible performance. All our submersible pump systems come with an oil pressure gauge. Using this gauge, you can precisely adjust the pump performance to the maximum possible by simply adjusting the oil flow.

Piping

The following diagrams start with minimum piping standards (Diagram 1) using rigid pipes and end with optimal piping (Diagram 4).

Poor Performance (Diagram 1)

Result: Worst performance, highest costs.

Can I continue using my existing hoses?

Yes. You can continue using all your hoses. Since the submersible pumps' performance can be adjusted gradually, it is possible to use a 2-inch hose with a 5-inch submersible pump. In short, our submersible pumps can be adapted to your existing hoses.

Which submersible pump sets are ideal for flood protection in firefighting and disaster management?

5-inch Dual Submersible Pumps, combined with petrol or electric units with adjustable oil flow, are ideal. You can connect hoses starting from 2 inches, including A, B, C, and F (5") hoses. In dual operation, up to 112 l/s – 6,666 liters per minute or 400 m³/hour – is possible, making them the first choice when high pump volume is needed. Under practical conditions, up to 88 l/s can be achieved with A hoses (4").

Are the submersible pumps available with floats?

Yes.
All electric models can be equipped with a float for automatic pump start/stop.
All electric models can also be operated continuously (24/7). All pumps are 100% dry-running capable.

Can submersible pumps be connected in series?

Yes.
Series connection allows pumping over extreme height differences and distances.

What are the advantages of parallel operation?

Parallel operation (simultaneous operation of multiple submersible pumps) offers several advantages:

Theoretically unlimited performance increase.
Cost savings by using only the necessary number of pumps.
Active water management, where wastewater from each pump can be directed to different destinations.
Using inexpensive standard hoses for large pumping capacities (e.g., distributing the water of a 55kW installation across 5 x 4" hoses instead of one 8" hose).
Multiple safety layers against failure: If one of five pumps fails, the remaining pumps continue working.
Positioning pumps at different heights reduces energy and noise levels, as only one pump operates in suction mode, while others run at full capacity or in energy-saving dry mode.

Are the submersible pumps capable of shallow suction?

Yes.
All submersible pumps feature an open inlet at the suction opening. The water level is reduced to a few centimeters, down to the inlet height.
The suction height can be adjusted to any desired level, and the bolts on the open inlet can be customized based on customer needs. The standard spacing for 5" models is 15mm and 102mm.

Can the pumps be used as A-, B-, or C-hose pumps?

The 2", 3", 4", and 5" submersible pumps correspond to "2 inch = C-hose pump", "3 inch = B-hose pump", "4 inch = A-hose pump", and "5 inch = F-hose pump".

Is the rental cost credited toward the purchase price?

Yes.

What is the lifespan of a submersible pump?

Up to 15 years or more!

Depending on the pump medium, the submersible pump head lasts more than 15 years without major repairs.
The same applies to the hydraulic units.
This is partly due to the minimized wear on all mechanical parts by the hydraulic oil and the integrated safety shutdowns in the unit.
These reliably prevent damage to the pump motor and unit motor in case of impeller blockage due to solid materials.

4 Hydraulic Submersible Pump Heads

- the cost-efficient submersible pump solution -

All four submersible pumps are hydraulically operated. The flow rate can be continuously adjusted by controlling the oil volume. The oil supply can be provided by either a vehicle hydraulic system or a hydraulic power unit.

Up to 50 liters per minute (13 USGPM) of oil flow at up to 250 bar pressure (3,625 psi) can be used to operate the submersible pumps.

Stay flexible. Depending on the requirement, you can alternately operate the pump head with electric, gasoline, or diesel motors.

The dual submersible pump head is the all-rounder solution.

The dual submersible pump head combines the advantages of 2", 3", 4", and 5" submersible pumps. With the appropriate adapters, up to two hoses can be connected simultaneously. This results in an unprecedented pump output. In dual mode, two 2-inch, or two 3-inch, or three 4-inch, or two 5-inch hoses can be used.
